Slow stitching is the perfect self-care activity to wind down from a hectic day, or to take you mind away from what has you feeling stressed and anxious.
Great for taking with you to work on anywhere life takes you: long waits at the doctor/dentist office, car rides, family vacations, kid's sports/dance practices...any time you have to cozy up with some fun fabrics, trims, a needle and some thread to find your creative flow.
Slow stitching is a mindful and intentional approach to sewing that focuses on hand stitching at a relaxed pace and mindset. The focus is all about relaxation, taking your time, and enjoying the creative process of making something beautiful out of a pretty pile of scraps (that might have otherwise landed in the trash can).
Slow stitching supports sustainability in this world of fast fashion and disposable goods. You'll be able to practice your visible mending skills to repair and upcycle textiles, contributing to a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
Back in the day, we called this "Crazy Quilt". Depression-era quilters, such as my own Mom, used whatever they had on hand to add color, vibrancy and creativity to an otherwise glum life. Hmmm....I see this trend coming back in style again. Interesting, isn't it?
•All fabrics come from my personal stash or have been sourced from quality estate sales, second-hand shops, creative reuse events, friends and family
•Unless otherwise specifically noted in the listing description, fabrics are new or gently kept, 100% cotton, and in very good condition---perfect for quilting, crafting, or sewing projects.
•Fabrics are stored in a smoke-free, pet-free sewing space.
•Every purchase from my shop supports a more sustainable and economical approach to quilting & sewing and helps reduce textile waste, one sale at a time.
•Thanks for supporting a small US-based business and for embracing a passion for rescuing textiles that still possess remarkable beauty and deserve an extended life.
